Naples & Governor's Cup Results
The two member team of Ted Jala and Jim Macklin, shot an excellent round on Sunday July 18 for the Naples & Governor's Cup Tournament. As a result, they won the Naples Cup with a team score of 73 gross, and also won the Governor's Cup with a team score of 58 net. Congratulations to Ted Jala and Jim Macklin for some great golf!!!

The tournament committee has put together a "fun" event that all members and their guests will enjoy. It will be a "6-6-6" format, where the first 6 holes will be "Alternate Shot", the second 6 holes will be "Best Ball", and the last 6 holes will be "Scramble". Alternate shot is when each team of 4, alternates whose shot will be used. Person 1 will hit the first shot, person 2 will hit the second shot, etc. Best Ball is where each of the team plays their own ball tee to green, then only the best ball score is used for the team. Scramble is where each person hits a ball, then all hit their next shot from the best ball. Members can invite guests, and all will be assigned to teams based on their handicap, ABC&D players per team. Hopefully you will meet and play with new members. The cost is $5 for prizes, $10 for guest green fee, and $12 for carts. Look for the sign-up sheet on our new bulletin board!
Tuesday Scramble-7/13 The Tuesday night scramble is becoming very popular so please be sure to call in your team prior early. The earlier the better. Starting Tuesday July 20, the Scramble will stay on the backside for the summer so we can accomodate 16 teams. The Tuesday Scramble is open to all: members and non-members. Cart fee's are $6 and non-members pay a $10 green fee. There is also a $7 cash fee which goes to the weekly prizes. 1st Low Gross: (30) m. Nathaniel "Nate" Brooks Nate is in his 2nd season here at the Naples Golf Course. He helps Rick by doing just about everything from mowing to starting to learn and help with equipment and irrigation maintenance. George Brooks, his father, also works here at Naples mowing. Nate lives in Casco, but is originally from Windham. He attended the Lake Region High School and has worked in masonry & drywall, lawncare (Clement Brothers), and window tinting. Nate in his spare time loves to play golf and go four wheeling. He also enjoys swimming in Crescent Lake. Nate realy likes working outside and that the members and staff here are cool. He is hoping to eventually work into a career/business in lawn maintenance.
