MSGA Course Slope & Rating

On Tuesday May 25, the MSGA is coming to NGCC to re-rate our golf course for Slope and Rating. After a number of changes over the years, we will finally have our course updated. Once completed, we will update our scorecards with the new slope, rating and yardages.

Lung Card

The Lung Card is a golf privilege card for the benefit of the American Lung Association. For just $70, you receive generous discounts at golf courses throughout Maine. Since NGCC is a participating golf course in this program, we receive two Lung Cards for our members to use. If any members would like to use the card(s), simply sign it out at the Pro-Shop and return it after your round. It's a great way to golf at some other great courses at a good discount.

Membership Referrals

If any current 2010 member gives us a referral, in advance, to someone who was not a member in 2009, then NGCC will thank you with a $25 NGCC gift card for a new single membership, and a $50 NGCC gift card for a new couples membership.

Men's League need "Subs"

If you have been considering joining the Thursday evening Men's League, but can't commit to playing every week, then you might consider becoming a "substitute". Subs are usually needed each week to fill in for League players that are unable to play that week. Subs can play as little as they want, and usually as much as they want without comitting to playing every week. If you are interested, put your name on the Men's League sign up list in the Club House, along with your phone number and the note "sub", so that if a League member needs a sub, they can call you.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions on the NGCC email newsletter, please contact Allen Faraday @ allen@naplesgolfcourse.com.

Employee Focus

Picture of Jeff Gray

Jeff Gray is now beginning his 3rd season at NGCC in the Pro Shop. Previously he was Pro Shop Manager at Point Sebago. Jeff, originally from Waterville, lives on Panther Pond in Raymond with his wife. They are both retired and are waiting to be 1st time grandparents in November. This past winter was their first in Florida, and Jeff said he "really liked that" and plans on returning this winter. In his spare time he works around the house and "plays golf!" Jeff said he really likes NGCC's traditional style course which is fun to play, but especially enjoys the friendliness of the members and staff.

Planting Day

Thurs May 13

Volunteers Needed

We have several hundred plants and shrubs that are dying to get planted around the course. We currently have 8 or 9 volunteers so far to help plant, but we could use some more. Bob Caron and his mother Carmen, have been very busy the last few days preparing the plants and distributing them where we want to plant them. Any kind of help is appreciated. We are providing a free lunch to those who help.  We plan to start at 10 am, have lunch around 12:30, then finish up by mid afternoon. Even a few hours of help will be appreciated. Please let Bob know if you can help.
